  It's hard to rate a funeral home. The reason you engage one is not among the best times of your life. What I would look for is empathy, efficiency and helpfulness ... and the folks at Voran in Allen Park have those traits.
  
  One of best things they have set up is a large kitchen area. During visitation time, many of us would sit around one of the kitchen tables and talk about happy memories with our recently-departed loved one. We had food delivered, since we were there most of the day, and it was nice to have a place to sit down and eat.
  
  Everyone on staff was helpful, too. They were there supporting us the whole way, and made sure we knew that if we needed anything they were there to support our needs.
